Practicing Money Skills

We created a class store and we are able at centers to go shopping. We use play money and one person is in charge of the cash register and adds up what the shopper wants. The other person is the shopper and has to use what we learned in counting money to pay. It is fun to be the shopper and also fun to use the cash register.

We had a wonderful time getting ready for Chinese New Year! We were able to learn about pictographs and how to write in Chinese. Then, we worked in groups and created our own dragons for a parade outside!

Martin Luther King Jr Video

In class we learned about Martin Luther King Jr and we drew pictures of him. Then, we each read a part of his speech and created a video of him. We had so much fun doing this!!! Click on the video to see Martin come to life.

In science class we learned about the lives of the dinosaurs. We learned about their characteristics and also made our own fossils. To end the unit we created books about dinosaurs using the app storykit. Here are some of our projects. Click on the link to see the work.

We made cursive in pudding. We just started learning cursive. We made an "E" a "T" and  "A" and we spelled some words. We Spelled " cat" and " it". It was so much fun. We even got to eat the pudding! - Popcorn and Blueberry

I made a picture of me. The first thing I had to do was trace the face. Then, you had to make an eyes, nose and a mouth. Next put the clothes on and a hat, if you wanted a hat. You could put a necklace if you were a girl. I put the hair on next. You get a white piece of paper and glue it down. Then you get a black piece of paper. I wrote my name on the back. These were from an artist with a long name. - Cupcake and Hamburger

How to Build a Snowman

First, we had to write about how to build a snowman and then we got to make our snowman. -Pepperoni

I thought about snowmen and so we made steps about how to make one. First, rolls three balls of snow. Next, you add sticks for arms. Then, you add buttons for the body and face. Finally, you add a hat, mittens, broom and jacket. - Oreo

This is how we made the " How to Build a Snowman Writing".  First, we got our paper. Next, we drew a picture of the snowman getting bigger and then we wrote about how to build a snowman. -Ice Cream Cone

I made snowman writing and I told people the steps on how to Build a snowman. Then, we corrected it on a different page. - Mac and Cheese

First we drew two snowmen and put on a carrot. Then, we added the hat and the scarf. - Hot Dog

First, Pick out any shapes. Then, you have to count how many triangles and other shapes you have to make your snowflake. Next, we have to write it down.- Jolly Rancher

What I liked about the snowflakes is you got to make what you want. How we made our snowflakes is we took shapes and formed them. -Cupcake

We cut outt he shapes and we got a blank blue paper and glued on the shapes. - Butter

We put shapes together to make the snowflake. Then on a  piece of paper we wrote what shapes we used. -Blueberry

First, you pick out your shapes and you write how many shapes you had. -Maple Steak

We cut two pieces out for a snowman and also two pieces for the trees. We then had to add the shadow on the bottom. -Spaghetti

For the shadow art furst we cut out the mounatins. Then we had to cut out the snowman and the trees. - Pineapple

First we traced a snowman and then we cut it out. We did the same thing for the trees. - Bagel

First, we cut out the mug of hot cocoa. Next, we glued three marshmallows in the hot cocoa and put sparkles for steam.

We took a piece of paper and wrote sentences on the paper. Then, we made out hot cocoa.  -Candy Cane

Our hot cocoa wriitng has real marshmallows and whatever thing you want on your design piece. We used pink, purple, green, dark blue and light blue mugs. -Ice Cream Sandwich

The hot cocoa writing was about how you like your hot cocoa. We wrote how we like it and where we like to drink it. -Sardine

We had to draw Martin and cut out a shirt and a tie. Next, we wrote his I have a dream speech. -Pepperoni Pizza

We made Martin with paper and crayons. We wrote about him on the back. - Salad

We cut out black paper for his suit. We also put " I have a dream" in a speech bubble. - Burrito

I think Martin was sad after his house got bombed. We read about that in a book. It was fun to make Martin. - Tootsie Pop

I made a flip book for the parts of the mass with many colors. There are four parts of the mass and one is the Gathering. - Root Beer Float

We made the mass flip book in our class. Our teacher says that there are four parts to it. There is the Gathering, liturgy of the Word, Liturgy of the Eucharist and I forgot the last one. They are on the " Must Reads" board. - Popcorn

The flip book we made was also about communion. We learned four things about it. - Donut

We learned about Jesus and how mass is important. We made this for a long time because we had to make it very neat. - Corn dog
