Matisse Art

In art class this week we made art inspired by the artist Matisse. We had to create a black shape of a person falling and then glue it onto the blue sheet. Then, we added a red heart on the person and also sun bursts in the sky. It was fun to see the real artist's picture and try to copy it our own way. We like having the art teacher come to class and teach new things. -2LC foodies

Nearpod Place Value

Nearpod Place Value

One of our favorite apps to use in math is Nearpod. The teacher makes problems on her ipad and then shoots the problems to our ipads. We have to answer the questions and when we hit send our answers go to her ipad and she can see out work. Then, she can share our work and show each of us how others in our group solved the problems different ways. It is fun to do this in our math rotations. 2LC foodies.

 

Candy Corn Place Value

Candy Corn Place Value

 First, we chose a number with three digits and had to write the number on the top of the candy corn we made. Then, we drew the number using tens and ones cubes.

 After that, we said what ten more and ten less would be and outlined our work in sharpie. It was fun to make the candy corn and make it with math problems. 2LC foodies

Halloween Doors

Halloween Doors

For Halloween the whole school decorated their doors. Our door is a Dracula and we used paper and glitter to make it sparkle. The office and the gym have Halloween doors too. It is fun to walk around the school and see the Halloween decorations. -2LC foodies

 

Frankenstein Monsters

Frankenstein Monsters

We created Frankenstein monsters in class. We had to use construction paper and make our our Frankenstein. We had to add detail. Then, we had to write seven sentences about the creature. We had to say what he likes to do, what he likes to wear and where he spends his time. We had to use our describing words when writing. Then we attached it to our Frankenstein. -2LC foodies

 

Art Class: Leaves

Art Class: Leaves

In Art class this week we learned how to draw leaves. First, we drew the leaves and used overlapping. Then, we traced the leaves with black oil pastel and added lines to make it look like they were flying. Finally, we colored the leaves by blending oil pastels. It was fun! - 2LC foodies

Educreations Math

Educreations Math

We used the math app educreations to learn about regrouping. You get to create lots of cool stuff. First ,we did math problems. Then we got to record it and teach someone to solve a math problem. My favorite part was when we got to record. I learned how to change the colors and erase. -Hot Dog 

Reading time

Reading Time

One of our centers were reading time. We were able to read our favorite Halloween picture books with our classmates. It was fun to share reading time together. - 2LC foodies

Mr. Bones

We made skeletons. We cut out a white oval. Then we cut out a bigger black one. Then we added a mouth and eyes. We named the skeleton Mr. and Mrs. Bones. -Burrito
